| About / Additional Info: | Circuit Civil Court handles cases such as contracts, torts, personal injury, property damage, malpractice, wrongful deaths, employment discrimination, civil rights suits, tax disputes, special remedies and cases not otherwise specified. Circuit Criminal Court handles all felony and misdemeanor cases presented to the Grand Jury. This office serves as the keeper of all Circuit Criminal Court Records and collection of costs. The Rutherford County Circuit Court Clerk is an elected official who serves for a term of four years and is responsible for all filings, processing and final disposition of cases, which include several phases of the Civil and Criminal law procedures in the Juvenile, General Sessions (Civil & Criminal), Circuit Civil and Circuit Criminal Courts. |
